7 Months - Oh My!

Here she grows again. Hannah is getting her top left tooth now. It has not been fun. The last two nights she's been up every hour or two. Poor little miss. The tooth broke the skin two days ago and white appeared yesterday. We're hoping it'll get good and out soon, because we could all use a little more sleep.

Hannah has been really into saying "momma" lately. Most kids say "dada" first, because its just linguistically so much easier, but not our girl. She just skipped that one altogether. Poor Kell. I got a video of her saying it, but it never uploads nicely into Blogger.

Hannah is really into Bella these days. They share toys and kisses and both seem to enjoy it. Bella brings her toys to Hannah so Hannah will tug on them and Bella thinks it's just great. I think Bella's not altogether sure why Hannah can play with her toys, but not the other way around.

Look at Us!

Look whose pictures are posted on another blog. Our dear friend, Jen Ferguson who does family photography in Oregon, shot these pictures for us in November to use for Christmas cards and the like. You may recognize one or two.  Check it out. Jen pretty much rocks.

Christmas...A Day Late and a Dollar Short

So, I finally spent some time going over the Christmas photos we took in San Diego. I know, it was over a month ago, but that's just how it is sometimes.  Naps do not last long enough to get serious PhotoShopping done most of the time.

So, here are a bunch of pictures...

Cousins --Troy, Kyle, Jillian, Ross, Hannah and Colin -- on Christmas Day

Do you think Troy likes the Lakers?

And there you have it: Christmas pictures in January.

The Feeding Frenzy Continues

We have added a second meal to Hannah's eating schedule. That means good morning light for taking pictures.

Hannah has taken to liking to "feed" and "clean" herself. Big girl.  Here's some photographic evidence, since I know you all really only stop by to see pictures.

I'm such a big girl I can feed myself...

And when I'm done, I clean myself up

And this last picture I'm just throwing in because I love those big blue eyes...

Cooking with Hannah

This is a tribute to David and Jill -- our creative and hilarious cousins.  They put their little boy Lucas in a stockpot and aptly titled it, a Modest Proposal.  We had to follow suit.

Here is Hannah, all set to cook:

One day, we'll whip this out at her birthday party and royally embarrass her.  That's our job as parents, right?

Our Little Miss at Six Months

Hannah is gettin SO big. She's a little over six months now and growing up so much.  She has two teeth now. The front bottom left she got on December 27th.  The front bottom right joined in two days later.  Everyone has been insisting that she's teething for three months.  She got some seriously rosy cheeks in the days leading up to cutting them, so maybe that's our tooth hint.  So far I haven't been able to get a picture of the elusive teeth, but boy howdy do we know they're there.  Ouch!

She thinks she's such a big girl.  She likes to hold a cup like mommy and daddy do.

After our six-month doctor appointment, we started Hannah on solids on Monday. She loves rice cereal. Our little miss (or mess) is a darn good eater.  Right now she only eats in the evening, but we might add a breakfast feeding soon.  So proud of her!

Mmmm...

Satisfied

Hannah sits up like a champ.  She can lean all the way over from a sitting position and put her head to her toes and pull her self right back up without wobbling or falling over.  She's also decided she likes to stand, although that typically means she holds on to something and we have loose hands around her middle.  I can't stand how big she's getting.

She's also getting more hair all the time.  It's pretty blond, with some red to it. She still loves her bath time -- she alternates between kicking and sucking on her toes.

Splish Splash

What total joy our little girl has brought to our lives already, and it's only been six months.

Slow Readers...

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a very long time. You see, we went out of town for two weeks at Christmas, and then actually had to get back to the grindstone once we were back. I'll work on getting pics from the trip up soon.

This post is more about a little something I'm thinking about doing. It's called Slow Readers Book Club.  Now, I'm not a slow reader (thanks mom for those speed reading classes I took in jr. high, they seriously worked), but this is more about not having lots of time to read.  Oh, I so feel that one.  Anyway, it's the brainchild of our.city.lights. I sort of like the idea that I could read and discuss a book online (no need to feel the pressure to host the book club yourself and spend hours making hors d'ouvres). I found out about it from one of the mommy blogs I like to read, For What it's Worth. How I originally found her blog, I will never know.  I tend to follow a long spiral of mommy blogs so that I end up reading about lots of other moms.

The first book is Jeanette Walls's Half Broke Horses. I read The Glass Castle and I think I liked it (or at least, I don't remember not liking it), so this might not be too bad of a choice for me.  Still thinking on it though.  Any thoughts? BroadBrains, do you want to join in?
